A main purpose of the NGSC is to develop a number of essential, Next Generation National Elements in an effort to develop these systems and/or components one time at the national level and to make them available across the country, thus avoiding costly, non-interoperable duplication at the state/local level.
If your agency or organization is currently part of an effort to deploy IP-based and/or broadband services for public safety purposes, then your effort should benefit from our National Elements Plan and you may want to consider working with the NGSC and our allies as a participant in our efforts.
If you are working with states and localities on a Next Generation system or a broadband or healthcare grant application, then you may want to take advantage of one or more of the National Elements. These elements will show how to add a strong safety component to overall state broadband plans, and provide a detailed way to take advantage of the National Elements to improve the value to the public of their systems.
